Bobby Gallagher
Bobby Gallagher holds the second trumpet position of the Jacksonville Symphony.
Originally from South Florida, Gallagher earned an artist diploma, masters and bachelors of music in trumpet performance from the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music where he studied with Craig Morris. Before moving to Jacksonville, Bobby served as second trumpet of the Miami City Ballet Orchestra.
While in South Florida Bobby performed as guest principal of the Palm Beach Symphony and the Boca Sinfonia, and as a guest with ensembles such as the Naples Philharmonic, the Florida Orchestra, the New World Symphony and the Vero Beach Opera.
Gallagher can be heard and seen on PBS nationally on “Now Hear This” and locally with Gerard Schwarz Holiday Special. He also can be heard on Marcos Witt’s Latin GRAMMY winning album Viviré. Further he recorded for an upcoming Netflix special by Pharrell Williams.
He has enjoyed summers at the Colorado College Summer Music Festival, Festival Napa Valley and the Center for Advanced Musical Studies at Chosen Vale. Passionate about education, Gallagher has presented masterclasses in settings from public high schools through major universities such as University of Northern Florida. He is currently the trumpet clinician at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts. In Miami, and now Jacksonville, Bobby has maintained a small private studio.
